Artbound Ink & Form is the creative and research platform of visual artist, author, designer, and hairstylist Jaysen Mansfield. The platform explores symbolic design, color psychology, visual identity, wearable art, surface design, visual storytelling, creative worldbuilding, and AI-assisted creative systems through original artwork, research-informed writing, and creative experimentation.
Jaysen’s approach to visual design is rooted in decades of hands-on creative work. Beginning a professional career in hair artistry in 1996, he developed a practical understanding of color, proportion, texture, contrast, shape, and personal appearance. That experience continues to influence the way he approaches visual communication, identity, and emotional color today.
His work now extends across digital illustration, symbolic visual systems, surface design, visual storytelling, creative writing, and aesthetic worldbuilding. Jaysen Mansfield also publishes selected nonfiction and personal-development titles under the pen name JT Mansfield. He is especially interested in how color, symbols, clothing, imagery, and visual form can communicate emotion, identity, confidence, memory, and personal meaning.
Artbound Ink & Form also serves as a research-informed creative exploration platform. Articles examine subjects including enclothed cognition, dopamine dressing, symbolic clothing, emotional color, visual identity, color psychology, wearable art, and emerging creative technology.
Rather than separating theory from practice, Jaysen uses his own artwork, visual studies, design experiments, and creative process to explore how these ideas function in real creative work.
The goal of Artbound Ink & Form is to make visual psychology, symbolic design, and creative identity easier to understand while documenting the development of a distinct body of visual work.
